Dear SRSC members
Further to the club notices in the November edition of Snobounds, the Board has decided to abolish the booking category ‘other’ which was for use of the divans (i.e. the latex foam squabs housed in some of the larger rooms). As use of a divan still counts towards our 24 bed limit, so that if a divan is occupied then a bed must be left empty in another room, the Board considered there was no rationale for having a different price for using these than for a normal bed, and it added an unnecessary complication to the booking procedure and pricing structure. The benefit of the divans is that they provide flexibility for adding sleeping spaces to rooms, e.g. so families can be together in one room if they wish. Members should advise the booking officer if they intend using divans so that she can optimise bed and room allocations elsewhere in the lodge.
